Course Details

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to recognise the core language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) demands of training and assessment, and to tailor training and assessment to suit individual skill levels, including accessing relevant support resources.

This unit introduces trainers and assessors to core language, literacy and numeracy issues in training and assessment practice.

Hours of Study

Classes are held on Friday 9.00am - 3.00pm. When this unit is delivered as an upgrade or standalone course, candidates must effectively complete design, assessment development, delivery and validation activities as though they were doing a full Cert IV in TAE. This makes this course of training time intensive.

A well skilled group can expect to complete the classroom elements of this training in 4 - 6 hours, but a less skilled group will take longer. In the event that all activities and assessments are not completed in the classroom, an additional 6 - 8 hours may be required at home to complete the work. All activities and assessments must be completed and returned before any qualification is granted.

  • All course materials are provided to the student in printed format, but may be available in electronic format for assessments.
